Joyce Ann Delbridge Maurice
Joyce Ann Delbridge Maurice, 82, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018, in Elizabeth City, NC.
Mrs. Maurice was born January 5, 1936, daughter of the late James Ashley and Lucy Mae Hodges Delbridge in Halifax County, NC. She was a member of First Christian Church and, in her younger years, loved to bowl. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Maurice was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Maurice, Sr.
Surviving are her son, John W. Maurice, Jr. and wife Sherry, of Elizabeth City, NC; two grandchildren, Michael Maurice of Norfolk, VA and Katelyn M. Pawko and husband Drew, of Virginia Beach, VA; two great- grandchildren Noah and River Pawko; her longtime, special friend, Tommy Jackson of Roanoke Rapids; cousin, Nelson High and wife Betsy, of Littleton. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Askew Funeral Service in Roanoke Rapids Friday, November 2, 2018 beginning at 2:00 pm. Rev. Daniel West will conduct funeral services following the visitation in the chapel at Askew beginning at 3 pm with interment to follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Matthew Maurice Scholarship Fund at Mid-Atlantic Christian University, 715 N. Poindexter St., Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
